Christmases 2016

Breakfast with Santa.

Not actually Christmassy, but it happened in December: mother-daughter tea party in which five-year-olds got ahold of my camera (but they all remembered to wear the camera strap!).

My family's Christmas/birthday party for all the December birthday people. Sara added our ages up and they equaled 123. I forgot my camera and only took a picture of our lovely cake with the 1-2-3 candles on my phone. A lovely, lovely day.

Christmas Eve with Cody's family.  Evelyn read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to people and basked in the praise for her reading skills.

They both had to go to bed roughly 20 minutes after I took this.

Christmas Eve, our house.  We got everything just right for Santa, and spent a little time sneaking around and hiding things in one another's stockings.

Christmas morning!

The new baby is the one on the left. Her name changes a bit.

Our attempt at a family photo with Cody's side of the family.  This isn't quite everyone.

The Day After Christmas with Cody's immediate family only.  I was mostly pictured out by this point, even though I hadn't taken many pictures in December.  There was just so much Christmas.  I'm including this so you can appreciate Evelyn's beautiful Christmas outfit that she wore at least 5 days out of the month. She seriously loves this ensemble.

November's Book List

The Nameless Dead: An Inspector Devlin Thriller. Brian McGilloway.*

I thought I might want to try out a new crime series, so I checked this out from the library.  I think I'll just get back to the Leaphorn and Chee novels.

This picture has nothing to do with the books I read last month, and I took it 5 or 6 years ago.  The tree is still thriving in our neighborhood and its leaves turned a week or so ago.  Evelyn and I went for a walk last weekend and were impressed with how bright the yellow leaves could be.
