Evelyn's four-month checkup

We took Evelyn to the pediatrician for her four-month check-up yesterday.

She weighed 13 pounds and 3 ounces, and measured 24.5 inches long.  Her head circumference was 16.5 inches.
This baby is missing her morning nap.

This means her head size is bigger than 70% of all the other babies her age, her length is the same as 50% of those babies, and her weight is .... well.  She's in the 40th percentile for her weight.  Her doctor said she was "just on the skinny side of normal" and I was happy with the idea of having a doll baby for just a little while longer.  My parents keep warning me that she'll blow up into a giant baby like my siblings and I did.

Cody, on the other hand, is slightly distraught.

"Girl!" he told her.  But he always says that.

"Distraught" may be too strong of a term, but he was a little disappointed and surprised.  And a little confused.  She's growing every day and getting so big!  But Cody did see some pictures of the two of them recently and was surprised at how small she looks when he holds her.

Otherwise, Evelyn is fine.  She does all the things a baby her age is supposed to do (and has been doing them forever), is happy and well-fed, and it's really not her problem if other babies are just too fat.

When Cody informed her of her littleness, she wasn't too concerned.

After a while, neither was he.

Shots wear everyone out.

That band-aid on her little leg in the last picture made me sad!

On the other hand, the 5th picture in the post, is absolutely amazing!

Poor Baby. I think her size is perfect, of course. Laine is right; her little leg is so sad.
