October's book list

So here's October's book list. I switched notebooks mid-month and it threw things around a little and displaced my book list.

So.

Chandler, Raymond. The Big Sleep. 1939. New York: Vintage Crime, 1992.*
And now I've checked out the movie.

Eastoe, Jane and Sarah Gristwood. Fabulous Frocks. New York: Pavalion, 2008.*
I checked this out on Cody's library card and he was very perturbed at the reminder calls he'd get from the library telling him to return his dress book.

Joyce, Katherine. Quiverfull: Inside the Christian Patriarchy Movement. New York: Beacon Press, 2009.*
If you think you can get through this without killing yourself, or the nearest fundamentalist, definitely read this book. Be very, very afraid.

Lessing, Doris. The Cleft. New York: HarperCollins, 2007.*
An interesting re-imagining of how we came to be.

Nicholson, Joan. Creative Embroidery. New York: Sterling Publishing Co., 1960.*
Woo arts and crafts!

I like that all of this month's selections were library books.

Fun library announcement: the basement sale is this weekend!
